Redbull 3 Style

THE SEARCH FOR CANADA’S MOST VERSTILE DJ BEGINS AS RED BULL THRE3STYLE INVADES CANADA
- A 10-City Hunt for Canada’s Best Party Rocker DJ -

The tools: Two Technics 1200 Turntables, one Rane TTM57 mixer, terabytes of tracks and years of sleepless nights djing,. That is the pre-requisite for 80 of Canada’s best DJ’s as they sort through millions of songs and potential mixes to prepare for the ultimate live DJ party competition.

Hosted by Canadian omni-genre musician Curtis Santiago, Red Bull Thre3style will feature the industry’s top talent – music writers, musicians, promoters, bloggers and headlining DJ’s – judging the DJs, evaluating each performer based on Originality/creativity, track selection, skills, stage presence, and audience response. The winner of each stop will move on to the National Final set to take place in Toronto on Saturday, March 13, 2010 as part of Canadian Music Week.

While the art of the DJ continues to evolve, it remains true to one objective: rock the party. Red Bull Thre3Style follows the same pattern. In 2009, the little party that could attracted 10,000 Canadians throwing down to the 80 competing DJs. Halifax’s own, DJ Cosmo took home the championship and will return to defend his title.

In 2010, Red Bull Thre3style goes global, as countries such as Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, France, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States will sweat through their country’s top clubs to find and submit their top party rocker DJ. In December, 2010, they will join the winner of the Canadian National Final at the World Final in Paris, France. And that’s a party no one wants to miss, or forget.

Check out the video footage below of the 3 Style comp in Vancouver. Congrats to our big homie Flipout for taking the title.
